Mathew Shawn Turner is a Canadian writer and photographer based in Montreal. He began his artistic journey by photographing and filming within the local music industry working for artists such as Fouki, Ilam, Vince James, Justin Saladino, and many more. In 2017, he joined the non-profit organization Under Pressure, positioning himself at the forefront of the Montreal street art culture, tasked with photographing cultural art events and filming promotional content.
After completing his creative writing studies at Concordia University, Turner began hitchhiking across the country to embark on a creative path that was to cement his desire to travel, photograph, and write stories found deep within the underbelly of varied sub-cultures. Turner uses spontaneous photography and thought-out literature in an attempt to piece together a clearer understanding of the human experience as seen through the lens of diverse perspectives.
